Team for Youths’ Inquiries

Team for Youths’ Inquiries

In order to collect young people’s opinions widely, the National Youth Commission (NYC) constructs a mechanism for youth participation in the decisions of the government’s policies. At the end of 2005, “Team for Youth Inquiries” was set up.
According to the NYC’s schedule, the “Team for Youth Inquiries” is an official channel for young people to influence the government’s implementation of the youth policies. The representatives hold two opportunities to participate in meetings of the Youth Affairs Enhancement Committee and related governmental departments every year in order to look at the government’s youth policies, propose opinions for corrections and call the government for discussion by using the mechanism of “actively proposing youth policies.”

At present, the representatives of the 2nd “Team for Youth Inquiries” are proceeding with research by directly aiming at the following points:
(A) Quality of education and autonomy of schools, colleges and universities.
(B) Public participation and care for minorities.
(C) Youth leisure and relaxation, and secondary culture.
(D) Young people’s physical and mental heath.
They are planning to advance many discussion meetings and activities to gather the youth’s opinions and propose vigorous and practical notions about policies. These opinions can be finally offered to the government for reference.
