To foster a sense of belonging among the youth to their hometowns and encourage their involvement in regional revitalization and development, the Youth Development Administration of the Ministry of Education is organizing the “Regional Youth Hub” recruitment. This initiative aims to establish Youth Hubs through collaborative efforts of teams deeply rooted in local communities. It involves offering “Local Courses” and “On-site Practical Work” that are closely tied to local cultural characteristics and developmental contexts. The objective is to guide passionate youths to immerse themselves in community life, understand local issues, and establish foundational concepts of local action and regional revitalization. Teams interested in participating are invited to apply by filling out the registration information and submitting the required documents on the designated proposal webpage (https://changemaker.yda.gov.tw/Gather/Apply) before 12 PM on February 19th, 2023.
Now entering its fourth year, the Youth Hub Dreamer Training Project has conducted over four hundred physical and online courses, training more than three thousand individuals. The courses have been held across Taiwan, allowing local youths to deeply engage with their communities through thematic courses and on-site practical work, thereby fostering a desire to develop and root themselves in their hometowns. Teams eligible for the Youth Hub recruitment must have over five years of experience in regional revitalization and community action. Entities such as companies, registered organizations, groups, or legal persons are eligible to submit proposals for the Youth Hub.
Proposal content must include two major components: “Local Courses” and “On-site Practical Work.” Courses related to local work should be designed for youths aged 15 to 35 and can encompass diverse systematic formats like workshops, study tours, hands-on activities, or lectures to help establish concepts of local action and regional revitalization. Additionally, planning for youths aged 18 to 35 to engage in at least 20 days of “On-site Practical Work” is required. This involves mentoring and accompanying the youth in actual community work, collaborating and co-learning with local teams to cultivate practical experience in local action, and gradually developing actionable plans. Successful applicants who pass the three-stage review process can receive up to NT$600,000 in execution grants for the Youth Hub.
For those eager to empower youths to engage in local communities, transmit local knowledge through courses or practical work, and share the passion of community interaction, the “Youth Hub” welcomes your participation. Join us in empowering local talent and inviting more youths to contribute to local development for continued growth!
