The “Youth Community Participation and Action 2.0—Changemaker Project” of the Youth Development Administration (YDA) of the Ministry of Education encourages youth people to return to their hometowns to assist in community revitalization and development. The 2024 Actor team “浮游藝術共創工作室 FuYou Art Studio” and “小報石岡 Shag Gong Paper” use their art expertise, to translate local stories and continue local spirit through the creation of dramas and songs.
“浮游藝術共創工作室FuYou Art Studio” team in Banqiao, New Taipei City, was founded by a group of students from the National Taiwan University of Arts Department of Drama. The members have lived in Fuzhou area for nearly seven years since college, where is full of reform voices such as urban renewal, demolition of illegal construction, and zone expropriation. The team shared the feeling that the bitterness of local residents’ houses being demolished and rebuilt and their frustration with local development, therefore, the "浮游共生計畫 (FuYou symbiosis project)" action was launched, calling on art creators and youth people who have returned to Fuzhou who are interested in local affairs to use drama stories as a medium, and to discover, store, spread and continue Fuzhou local stories. They look forward to discovering the residents’ imagination of the city and their residence in the process, thereby shaping the important value of the Fuzhou area and the cultural spirit of Fuzhou. They also hope that the story of Fuzhou can be preserved through drama and be seen by more people.
“小報石岡 Shag Gong Paper” team in Taichung saw the local population aging in recent years and the plight of being unable to tell and inheritance stories. So they decided to go back to their hometown to sort out the local context, and launched the "為石岡做一首歌 (Make a Song for Shigang)" action, working with singer-songwriters Huang Wei Jie to organize a song co-creation workshop and invite Shigang Junior High School to explore the stories of their hometown and discover the local sense of life. Through the process of composing, arranging, and collecting sound materials for a song, the team expresses the feeling of life in Shigang. They also hope to take this opportunity to rebuild the community's relationship network and pave a way for more Shigang youth to return home.
