The Youth Development Administration (YDA) of the Ministry of Education actively promotes the “Youth Community Participation and Action 2.0 - Changemaker Project”, to support young people to show their love for their hometown through actions and engage in the revitalization of traditional crafts and culture. Such as the team “Matang·La Tingkisya (馬當部落拉電車青年)” and “秋拿青年” in 2024, they implement the vision of cultural revitalization and sustainable development through traditional singing and building a community communication platform. On December 14th and 15th, the YDA will also hold the "2024 Years of Changemaker and Youth Hub Achievements Exhibition" at the North Tobacco Factory in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Taipei. There will be wonderful actions from 43 teams, 25 groups of Youth Hub and 16 groups of Dream Idea.
The “Matang·La Tingkisya (馬當部落拉電車青年)” team in the Matang Tribe of Taitung was named La tingkisya because of its concern about the electrification project on eastern railway in 2014, and it has been ten years since its establishment. They have long been involved in tribal affairs and cultural inheritance, and have also initiated the revitalization and continuation of traditional culture. This year, the team promoted “The·Gleaners Anniversary Project (拾.穗週年計畫)” focusing on the traditional polyphonic songs of the Matang Tribe, and planned a series of fieldwork and cultural course education to let the tribal youth to deeply participate in it, not only to improve the younger generation's understanding of traditional culture, but also to look forward to laying a more solid foundation for the future development of tribal culture and allowing the tribal song culture to be passed on.
The “秋拿青年” team from Shulin, New Taipei, use the Sanfu Vil. as their base to create a community platform for youth practice. The team designed the physical space of a grocery store “秋拿柑仔店”, which does not only sell goods, but also is a platform with the exchange of stories as the core and painting as the medium, inviting local residents to talk about their life fragments, and transform their daily life such as childhood street scenes and local temple rituals into pictures or 3D Shaped pillows, and present them to the public in the form of exhibitions. Through the perspectives of different identities, to connect local memories and build a bridge between the past and the future.
