On the way engaging in local actions, heartwarming company is the key supporting youngsters to carry on. “Regional Youth Hub Local Revitalization Talent Cultivation Incentive Program” launched by Youth Development Administration, MOE, specially links 50 non-governmental groups that have long-term local relationship and abundant practical experience all over Taiwan to be the “regional youth hubs” this year. Furthermore, the hubs are transformed into “professional guides” to build up a biggest local revitalization learning network in the country. Through more than 300 practical courses and 200 “community-based projects”, we invite youngsters between 15 and 35 years old to feel the temperature of our land together.
From March, “local courses” have started in different countries all over Taiwan. A new topic is designed for each week to guide youngsters to comprehend actual local needs from the perspective of frontliners. “Shan Hao Integration Design” located in Pinglin Dist., New Taipei City introduced series courses of “Cha-Jue Lab” to lead youngsters learning landscape in Pinglin with new sensory perspectives through cycling field study, historic trail tour, and stand-up paddling (SUP). “Little Township Community Development Association” in Kaohsiung City designed “mountain village survival guide” to direct youngsters using vintage digital cameras as communication media to record seniors’ wisdom and life trajectory. It helps youngsters to integrate into communities step by step from new participants to team-up “key locals”.
For youngsters aged between 18 and 35 years old who would like to engage in local affairs in depth, they can challenge themselves with “community-based project”. Through regional youth hubs, they may engage in local work sites under guidance at least 20 days to cultivate resilience through community practices. To encourage youngsters to step out comfort zone and explore in safe environment, each practitioner will be granted at least NT$20,000 as living allowance when participating in local projects. In addition, youngsters who completed courses or projects may participate in “Dream Idea Competition” to earn a bonus of up to NT$30,000 as well as project implementation fund. Youth Development Administration will arrange “one-on-one coaching” by professional mentor to assist youngsters to turn creative ideas into actual hand-on actions.
Reflected the achievements last year, younger people presented great execution skills. Yu-Tzu Chang, a community-based practitioner, promoted “Migrant Workers Picnic Day” in Zhongxing New Village, Nantou to break the ice with delicious food and cultural exchange. Ying-Chi Huang, a practitioner in “Real Food Experience”, Yi-Lan, brought circular economy into life by guiding local people using composted cow manure to produce Christmas potted plants. These practices not only achieved local revitalization but also enriched youngsters’s life experiences.

In 2025, Yu-Tzu Chang, a practitioner of “Dream Idea Action-based Capacity Building Mechanism”, hosted “Migrant Workers Picnic Day” in Zhongxing New Village, Nantou to promote cross-cultural communication between local residents and migrants.

In 2025, Ying-Chi Huang, a practitioner of “Dream Idea Action-based Capacity Building Mechanism”, guided local people mixing cow manure with soil for Christmas potted plants to promote the concept of agricultural resource recycling and reuse.

Regional Youth Hub, “Shan Hao Integration Design Co.,Ltd.”, combined tea snacks with floral aesthetics through flavor combination courses as well as guided trainees to pick plants that can be used for floral design to experience the diversity of tea.

In 2026, the Regional Youth Hub Consensus Conference was successfully concluded to consolidate action plans. Projects for 2026 was formally launched.
