In order to let young people understand how different countries help youth to participate in volunteer affairs and to be a volunteer, Youth Development Administration, the Ministry of Education (YDA) offers the chance to visit different foreign volunteer organizations overseas for the representatives who get the first prize of outstanding youth volunteer team, in the meantime, sharing the serving experiences to foreign youths. This can motivate the ability of offering service, expand youth horizon, and extend the capability when giving service.
Japan has started the voluntarism from 1945, and made Laws. The volunteer affairs become prosperous because of the legislation. There are so many different types of NPOs and NGOs, and they are very active around the world. Besides, Japan government tries to promote people who retired to participate in the volunteer affairs.
This year(2015), two staffs of YDA, eight representatives who place first in eight types of youth volunteer teams, and a member of youth volunteer center visited seven Japanese voluntary organizations from July 6th to July 10th, including, Tokyo Voluntary Action Center(TVAC), Juon Network, Never-ending International workcamps Exchange(NICE), International Volunteer University Student Association(IVUSA), National Center for Child Health and Development(NCCHD), Mitaka International Society for Hospitality(MISHOP), and Takushoku University. Youth volunteers who attended this activity were satisfied, and expressed that it can make young people expand horizon, share the experience, and check whether we can improve the methods when we service, even we can build the bridge to cooperate with each other.
