Pan Ying Zhen, who studied at National Taiwan Normal University, of the was always interested in art and music. She had participated in the Government Internship Program for College Students from October to November 2018, and she chose to intern at National Palace Museum. Besides guiding visitors from children to adults, operating the education display space and assisting special events, her mainly mission was to design and execute lesson plans for children. She toured children with drama and turned objects in collection into stories that spark their curiosity.
According to Ms. Pan, most children show less interest during the tours, and it’s the reason why she kept reflecting on herself, coming up with a variety of lesson plans. She realized that touring doesn’t mean to pour knowledge into her audience, but to intrigue their motivation and passion for learning historical collection.
After her internship, Ms. Pan broke her stereotype of public sector, she found out that public sector was not that stiff as her imagination, but more fascinating and innovative. She had learned abundant knowledge and the operation of museum, which made her more certain about her career planning.
