The Youth Development Administration, on June 25th 2019, presented the achievements of the program aiming at subsidizing colleges and universities for career development services in Tunghai University. University and college faculty members who were interested in assisting students with career development were invited to participate in the event themed “Dreams of Youths and Employability”. The achievements of the program were showcased during the event. Other activities, such as keynote speeches, group discussions, sharing of experiences in assisting students with career development, were also organized.
In his opening remark, Dr. Ching-Shui Lo, Director-General of the Youth Development Administration, expressed his expectation for universities and colleges to integrate programs promoted by government agencies, such as placemaking, into career development services. In addition, faculty members of universities and colleges played a key role in both directly or indirectly combining internal and external resources to build up comprehensive career development programs. At the end of his speech, Director-General Lo pointed out that holistic education would enable young people to develop capabilities for adapting themselves to the needs of companies and changes in the industry.
With the concerted effort of the Administration and universities and colleges, teachers and career counselors were able to wield creativity to assist young people in increasing their strengths, realizing their dreams, and develop their career paths.
