Youth Overseas Peace Corps was established on the 28th of June, 2016, under the 12-year compulsory education policy proposed by President Tsai Ing-wen, and annual projects of Youth Development Administration (YDA), Ministry of Education (MOE). Youth Overseas Peace Corps Promotion Committee was then organized, and the first Promotion Meeting was held on 17th of August, with the Minister of MOE as General Coordinator and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Overseas Community Affairs Council, Mainland Affairs Council, civil organizations and the youth as committee members.
Missions of Youth Overseas Peace Corps:
1.Providing subsidies for youth groups to volunteer overseas.
2.Building a website with information on overseas volunteering.
3.Holding Youth Overseas Volunteer Contest and Award Ceremony.
4.Organizing Youth Overseas Volunteers promotion activities.
With the resources of the government, universities and colleges, domestic and international organizations, we are looking forward to building up an overseas volunteering service network, encouraging the youth to participate in overseas long-term service, strengthening the tie between public and private organizations and youth volunteers.
